Green hydrogen and oxygen production system at the Lab One facility

One of the key components of the technological infrastructure of the LAB ONE project in Gniewino will be a hydrogen production system based on water electrolysis technology. This process involves splitting water molecules (H₂O) into oxygen (O₂) and hydrogen (H₂) using electrical energy. This will enable the project to implement a green hydrogen production model that generates no CO₂ emissions.

As part of the investment, the use of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzers is planned. They are characterized by high efficiency under variable power supply conditions, making them ideal for renewable energy sources, as well as by their compact design and fast response time. These features make them an optimal solution for integration with photovoltaic systems.

The hydrogen produced will then be stored in specialized tanks that meet the highest safety standards. Such hydrogen production and storage solutions enable flexible management of the product—it can be used locally, for example at an FCEV refueling station, or transported for further use in the industrial, transport, or energy sectors.
